I don’t have time.
How many times a day do you say that?
I hear it said all the time. I don’t have time to start a business, I don’t have time to exercise, I don’t have time for breakfast,
I cry bullshit. You have time, and you choose how you use it.
Everyone is different. I have 45 minutes in the morning these days to get me and 3 kids up and dressed and out of the house. And we’re always ready early. And we all have breakfast together. And then I have a shower and wash my hair. (Note - I don’t wear make up and my skincare routine is pretty much non existant. I do put cream on my face after I wash it with shower gel though if that counts!? AND I sometimes don’t brush my hair. But mostly I do.)
You can do it if you choose to do it.
But if you choose not to then you won’t do it. Simple.
Don’t be the person who says they don’t have time.
Be the person who either says that you don’t want to do it or the person who does it.
Its not complicated.
Once you decide that you do have time for something then its OK to ask for help if you don’t know HOW to do it or how to make time. That’s OK.
What’s not OK is spending your life saying that you don’t have time. Because that’s a cop out and you know it.
So instead of saying you don’t have time how about you do this.
- Write down what you want to make time for.
- Write down how much time you need to make for this. (5 minutes to eat breakfast, 30 minutes for exercise, 1 hour for working on your business, 10 minutes to tell the kids a story before bed)
- Keep a diary for a week of EVERYTHING you do and how long it takes. ie watching an episode of Greys Anatomy - 41 minutes. On the phone to mum - 20 minutes.
- Look at your diary. See how much time you waste. Choose to stop doing stuff that doesn’t help you and make the time to do what you want to do.
Seriously. If I can get me and 3 children up and dressed and out of the house in 45 minutes including breakfast, shower and a lot of singing ridiculous songs about rice krispies then you can do whatever it is you want to do.
