Aren’t you starting to get sick of all the messaging that’s out there at the moment that starts off “I made £10,000 in just 3 days and this is how you can too”

I mean, we all know that overnight successes like this are rarely overnight.

I sometimes tell people how social media has made me £2500 in just one day. But that’s not the whole story. That’s not telling you how many hours a day I spend building my brand online, posting in groups, commenting on forums and generally becoming well known as an expert in my field so that I can have a conversation with someone who has found me through Facebook and signs on the spot.

But, it’s not an instant success.

I’d hate you to think you could go into a Facebook group as a totally unknown new person, post something and sit back and wait for the money to roll in. The truth is that I built my business from 0 to very comfortable indeed thank you very much in less than a year using social media to do so.

This time last year I was homeless with my 4 kids. I didn’t really have a business, I had a dream, and as we slept on various sofas and floors and I relied on handouts to feed us I dreamed of building this business. And I have. We’re not homeless any more. We have a roof over our heads and food in our cupboards. I may occasionally over compensate with buying TOO much food now but that’s OK, because I can.

Because my business allows me to work just 5 or 6 hours a day while the kids are at school, pay rent, buy food, go on holiday (we’re heading off on our first European beach holiday adventure in the summer holidays, just me and them) and generally live the life of my dreams. If I could change anything about my life right now it would be for me to own our home instead of rent. And that’s happening, very soon. I know it is. I will make it so. But other than that, this is my ideal life. I love it.

I’ve worked hard to get here and I’ll continue to work hard to keep us here and to make it better and better each day. But I will work hard under my terms. That includes going to school assemblies and plays and driving the hockey team to matches during the day if I want to. It involves working all the weekends that they are at their dads and late into the evenings sometimes if I want to. Or not if I don’t. This is what I want.

I don’t want 10K in 3 days - unless it is on my terms. And then yes please and thank you very much that would be lovely. But what I want more than that is to help YOU achieve the same success that I have. Well, not the SAME success because this is my ideal life and business that I’ve built, and not yours.
