5 Ways That You Can Turn Followers Into Leads

convert your followers into leads

So you have many followers on social media but not many sales? You wonder why everyone seems so happy to chat to you on twitter and like your photos on Facebook but they are not buying from you. What are you doing wrong? It is very easy to fall into the trap of beating yourself up when this kind of thing happens, why you? Why is everyone else so popular and not you?

The easy answer is that you need to look closely at your social media activity and decide whether you are giving your raving fans the chance to become your customers. Here are 5 things that you can do every day to make sure that people know about your website and have the chance to become a lead or customer

1 - Have your website in your bio. This is such a simple one and yet one that people still miss. In your bio on twitter, instagram or any other social media platform there is a space for your website. USE IT. Unless you make it easy for people to click through to your website then they are not going to do so.

2 - Include a call to action in your bio. Don’t just stick with a blah introduction like everyone else, give people a REASON to click your link. Tell them they’ll get a free recipe every Monday if they sign up to your recipe, promote your opt in. Give them a REASON to become a lead and they will do so.

3 - Promote your opt in / mailing list regularly. On twitter, this needs to be every day. Multiple times a day if you can manage it. But be clever with what you write. Nobody wants to read “sign up to my mailing list here xxx” 4 times a day. (or ever, actually) Instead tweet something like “Want to be a #socialmedia superstar and grow your business? [insert ink}” or “Join over 300 business owners in achieving #socialgrowth for your business now [insert link]” Come up with new and innovative ways to get people to click on the link in your social media messages and for them to ultimately sign up for your mailing list.

4 - Sell to people regularly. Unless your social media tribe knows what you have to offer then they are not going to buy from you. Promote your courses and products and services regularly but again, if you can do it from a place of helping rather than a place of selling you will see more return. For instance “buy my product” is from a place of selling and “learn how to xxx with this product” is from a place of helping.

5 - Share regular consistent high quality content. This can be from your own site, from others or a combination of both. A combination is always best and make sure that whatever you are sharing has good value and is not just content for the sake of content.

A solid social media strategy is a great way to make sure you are going to get a good return on your investment with social media. If you need any help with this, you know where I am - feel free to ask in the comments or click on the link above to book a meeting with me.
